Generation after generation, Folklórico continues to thrive and remains an essential part of Mexico. Maintaining the essence of what Folklórico started with it empowers those who are were born in Mexico but also those were not born in Mexico to hold national pride. Different instructors having different ways of teaching the dance some sticking to traditional ways and others adding their own spin by embracing the ballet in ballet Folklórico. There is meaning held in the dances and the tradition is an important part of it. Many choosing to honor the traditional choreography in order to show respect to the tradition and many believe that to allow to much change is to disrespect the tradition.

Teaching Folklórico to the next generation is something many take pride in. It is showing them the heritage, teaching them about family, and making sure to have pride in their roots.
